I'm no attorney, but I've done a few of these style cases.
Any method I describe may not work for you. You use my experience at your own risk.

The courts can be hit or miss depending on what type of judge you encounter.

What the courts ARE responsible for are enforcing the laws in your State or Commonwealth.

So extensive research is needed to see what your specific State laws say in your situation.

There are proceedures and laws in place on how law enforcement is supposed to work. Your trick is to become an informed defendant and make sure that the laws and rules are complied with when the State prosecutes a defendant.

While I respect Law Enforcement and the dangers of their jobs, I see FAR too often; bravado, mis-information and the ignorance of both Defendants and the Plaintiffs when it comes to court cases and how the system works........

While you MAY not be guilty as charged (OR completely innocent) the courts mainly work on the written law.

If you can cite law and reference law, you'll have a FAR better chance of getting a fair or 50/50 shake.

Otherwise, you may have the best story or case in the world AND LOSE.

Its that simple.

Unfortunately, civil traffic cases generate revenue and don't follow the rules of evidence criminal cases do.
Civil speeding tickets are generally IMHO treated as guilty until proven innocent.

So its time for some checks and balances.

You check the laws and proceedures and learn to follow the courts' system, which in this country works for you if you know how to use it 85% of the time IMHO.

As the motorist, you're also responsible for your actions and the welfare of pedistrians and those around you. ITS generally the unpredictable REACTION of another motorist which makes most bad situations worse, so lets learn how to avoid them and plan / buffer for the unexpected.

So take a deeper look into your own skills and see how you can improve them and also educate those around you. We'll all be safer at "higher" speeds if we can get everyone on the same page (or at least in the same chapter) of driving...........America's main mode of personal transportation.

I'll keep digging deeper into LIDAR, the technology whose application in speed enforcement, IMHO, is flawed.

"Continuous wave" Radar, equally challeneged, won't be fool
proof either for a long time to come.
