I think the answer is not in playing hide and seek with the frequency of the LO, but in totally cutting off the leaking emmissions. Having done that, no device could detect a detector. I also think that the technology is there but possibly the detector makers don't realize the potential market. Whoever produces the first fully cloaked detector will sell a lot of them real fast (assuming it is at least a decent detector). I've been waiting for a year and a half.
