F | What you fail to realize is this: If you left your Radar gun on you could effectively slow down RD users for a longer period of time, then your instant-on bursts.
Lets say person 'A' is speeding with a high-end radar detector on the NYSThruway. They are going 78 in a 65. Flow of traffic is normally around 75MPH. If you leave your radar gun constant-on, and the person picks you up from a 1.5miles away: You have effectively slowed that driver down for 1.5miles (giving them time to slow down gradually and move over slowly), and made him/her alert (aware) to a possible situation on a road ahead.
On the other hand: You can use instant on where you do not slow them down until the last instance: They will hit their brakes more aggressively. (creating a dangerous situation because of your instant on blast). You can either ticket them, which again there really is no proof that they won't speed right back up after that...
Basically the use of Instant-On is for the sole purpose of money making, it does not slow people down for any period of time, which should be your main goal in safety enforcement. |
What you fail to realize is that the only way to slow some folks down is to hit them in the pocket.
You admit that you will blatantly break the law when you think we're not around. That is more dangerous to me. If I jack you for a couple of bills then you will drive the speed limit ALL THE TIME because you won't know where we're at.........
