Does anyone know what the difference is between these two? They look the same.
Does anyone know what the difference is between these two? They look the same.
- PLII is 238pps
- PLI is 380pps
- Optics are different between the two
- Likely different algorithms
How easy would it be to jam 380pps, mainly by the AL/LPP/PASS/L* ones. Granted, I'm pretty sure no one uses the PLI anymore, right?![]()
Is there any reason they use a different rate? I got looking around and see almost every manufacture uses a different pps. Is this just design or is there a reason to have them vary?
Just a guess, but considering the evolution of LIDAR and the current fastest pps in the US (Euro Lavag can be ~600pps, I know) is 238pps, it looks like it was an improvement for the gun to acquire a target "better."
Optics are very similar (outer circumference). In the Pro I its an entire round lens.
In the Pro II there is a separate Tx lens (or divider for it) for the diode and the outer lens is where the reflected pulses come back, focused to the Rx receiver.
Every other gun uses separate Tx and Rx lenses.
The Rx (generally) being bigger.
Check out the GOL site: "Know your guns" to see the front of the Pro I & Pro II.
Its subtle.

Well I have a pro laser 2, I did see a pro laser on ebay and it looked the same but figured the pro laser 2 had to be better in some respects or why would they have gone to the newer version.
Looks like GA has a Pro I gun now........
I didn't bid against ya.
I'm saving for the LA upgrade
I appreciate that!I should get it next Wend. I know it's not IACP approved but I thought it would be fun to play around with. I guess I will be the only one to post results against an original pro laser
