I dunno what aBLTcheeseburger is smoking, but he's wrong on both answers.

Because cops can and will shoot you in the arse, especially if they had a hard time getting a reading on you from the front. They don't have to be moving to do so. And, as The Chariot said, your rear end is MUCH harder to protect than your front end. Read the FAQ.

    2. I've also got Ontrack's Laser Shield, it is an anti-laser license plate cover. How effective is it against laser?? Do I need to put Veil on that too???
First, if you don't have a good jammer yet, then nothing you do with a Laser Shield or Veil makes the slightest difference, because by themselves, passive measures do nothing. Your first investment should always be a jammer, and then any extra money spent towards helping that jammer if it turns out to suck. But if you buy a good jammer, you don't need any passive measures.

If you have the best jammer you can buy, a Laser Shield, and you are still getting PT on your licence plate, then your installation sucks. You need to fix the installation, not Veil your Laser Shield. But yes, as a last resort measure, after your jammer has been optimised, Veil over a Laser Shield will indeed improve the performance of the Laser Shield. But again, not enough to make a difference if you don't have a jammer. It'll just get you pulled over for having an obscured plate.

You actually are right. But (in my area) shooting from any ramp is highly impractical because of how narrow they are, and a cop sitting on one would more than likely cause an accident.

Overpass shots are somewhat common, but if you look at the bridge above, at least for me, I know what streets the highways are passing, so I know which are streets and which are side roads with no hwy entrance ramp. I know to look up at all the bridges of main streets so cops shooting from overpasses do not disturb me.

No, you can't shoot laser on the move. So they will shoot you in the front 99.999% of the time.

    2. No. Laser shields do the jobs by themselves :P Thats why their called laser shields :O
    1. Correct, in stating LIDAR can only be used while being stationary. Do not discount rear shots. While rare, they do happen! Anything to reduce your IR signature is helpful. Rear taillights are just as reflective!!!

    2. I would HIGHLY (emphasis on HIGHLY) suggest putting Veil on the LaserShield. License plates are retroreflective - hence a great aiming point for LEO's. Again, anything to reduce your IR signature!!! Even Veil Guy recommends putting VEIL on a plate cover and not directly on the LP.

I will stand corrected. Victor has more exp. with this than me. I don't have a front plate, that was just my opinion.

Understood, dude. Correction to my statement: if your state requires a front LP, it is highly suggested that you run a LaserShield and put a coat of Veil on it.

Thanks for all the information guys.

I'm thinking about investing in a laser jammer as well. I live in South Carolina where it is illegal to jam a laser, but I've been looking through the forums and read that if you jam the laser then turn off your jammer and let the cop get a speed then their laser gun won't generate a jamming code. (Is that correct?)

Since I live in South Carolina, I am wondering if there are places down here that would install the jammer for me. I emailed Laser Interceptor USA for a recommended installer. (I read Stealth Stalker's Laser Jammer FAQ and he said, "the Laser-InterceptorUSA is the undisputed king" of laser jammers so I'm thinking of getting that one).
