Re: Dual LI position on Corolla 2009
Ideally, you want to mount your sensors as close vertically and horizontally to the most reflective part of your vehicle, the headlights. Whilst you choice is not bad, it is not ideal. Here are my recommended installation locations in red. Be sure to orient the sensor's receiver bubble outwards towards the fenders of your Corolla. You may either cut the honey-comb grill (mounting the sensors behind them or anything is a no-no) or I will send you our rectangular sensor mounting brackets that you can use to attach the sensors to in front of the grill and then attach the other end of the brackets to the honey-comb grill which would negate the need to cut it.

Yeah, you gotta go higher, or you risk nasty punchthroughs. There's no way around it.

X2 The red is a perfect location. You should have an easy time cutting slots in the grill and having a great setup.

Oh okay, is it okay if the sensor is tilted little as long as it's still pointing straight forward? Instead of it being a vertical or horizontal mount, it's a very slight diagonally horizontal mount. As in it being little off from a flat 180 degrees.

Re: Dual LI position on Corolla 2009
Ideally, no but if this is your only option, you may (I don't' see why you can't get it perfectly horizontal and believe that once you receive your LI, you will be able to do so). The Laser Diode in the LI has a shape to the beam, rectangular and horizontal, from left to right so it is best to keep the shape as designed to cover the roadway down range at the LIDAR source.

It's because the top of the grill isn't exactly flat, it a curves just a tiny bit, and the grill pattern is crazy -> http://i.ebayimg.com/10/!BzhW7+QBGk~...QsKF!~~_12.JPG x.x
a friend told me to buy this http://www.axlauto.com/j/J10b.jpg and squeeze the sensor in there without doing much cutting.

Re: Dual LI position on Corolla 2009
The LI will come with adjustable mounting brackets. Although on some LI installs that you can get away with a slight angle, alignment is critical. Use the brackets and make sure they come out as level and perpendicular as possible. Always finish your install job with testing.

Gotcha, I'll post pics of the install when it's done. Will most likely be cutting the grill.

The red positions would be best. Can't you cut parts of the plastic grill away and use the self-drilling screws upwards into the car bumper?
