Don't particularly understand why BMW's would be so different than other cars with similar hardware.
Here is how to do a proper vertical installation of the
Laser Interceptor!!!!
http://www.radardetector.net/forums/...it-all-ok.html
This install in that link is verified to be JTG against "Laser Atlanta SL2, Kustom Pro 3, Stalker LZ1 v2, LTI Ultralyte LR"
In real world performance I willing to bet you will be save from 97% of your encounters of laser.
Sure if you do X, Y and Z (I will not say them publically though I could cause its common knowledge to cops) you can make their own chances easier of getting a speed reading but in the REAL WORLD I personally have never have seen that happen and I have logged 100,000miles of driving with a Jammers from the Lidatek LE30 single and dual,
Blinder M20, Anti-Laser Gen7 and Laser Interceptor Quad have never gotten a ticket. I spent 2 years with the Blinder M20 with its laughable performance (it was the best and more reliable jammer available when I purchased it and even in its bad mounting location was saved all the time).
Mounting the heads infront of the headlight might offer the best performance for testing but in the real world situation its not needed to go that far
Yes, I referenced this install in one of my earlier posts. That's why I thought it would work OK.

I am in So. Cal. I am trying to figure out how to either find someone with guns or someone to rent from. So far I have had no luck by using this forum, but I may need to give it time.

Re: LI Duals on a 2007 335i Sedan
wanted to throw in my .02. i have a vertical install on an e46 and it was JTG, tested by a very very well respected member on this board. the system has had to real life encounters and has worked flawlessly, as both were guaranteed tickets.

Re: LI Duals on a 2007 335i Sedan
I tell you, ignorance is bliss. Many of us have been testing conventional and unconventional installs for years. You install any of them correctly, they work well. You install any of them incorrectly, they fail. After seeing what I've seen from testing and meets, I will not make a comment on what will work and what will not work unless I am 100% sure.
My gripe with the OP's install is that the heads are toed out ever so slightly as he said. You can not take those types of risks with any install. They should be installed with brackets on that car, not tape. I'd correct that and then get the install tested.

I have really tried to pay close attention to the angle that the heads are towed out due to the grill slat angle, and I can honestly say that each head is no more than 2-3 degrees. In my opinion, (not based on factual evidence or testing) I don't think that would make much of a difference. Especially since a LEO shooting you is probably 5-30 degrees off axis on either side, depending on how close you have gotten to him.
What do you guys think?
