I recently veiled my car... it's black... now I'm having a dilema with where to mount my X50. Low or high?... high would give a chance---albeit a VERY small one--- to catch a burst from someone else in front of me, and it's much easier to hide my hardwire kit high where it is now...but low might give me better chances to catch a shot directed at my veiled lights (I have no front plate), but is hard to run the wire around the vents... what to do???

I would mount high because I dont even have veil, just a RD and Ill catch lasering fine. Thanks Mike.

I believe you'll find that by pitching the detector a little forward in its mount on the windshield will help improve sensivity (off the hood reflections) a bit regardless of where you ultimately choose to mount it.

LOW for laser detection.

If you ever get a laser jammer, move the RD high for best radar performance.

I believe a few of the users found a way to mount the x50 to get better laser coverage. Do a search and you'll find it.

During our GoL testing it was really good at picking up laser when we had it mounted high, until we got around 500FT then it would be pretty silent.
