Instead of applying veil to the outside of the light bulb housing, would it be possible to open the shell and apply it to the inside? I would imagine that this would allow it to last longer, because it won't be affected by the weather. The coating would be protected.

I plan to do it when I need to put my 2door sunbird on the raod (I have extra headlight buckets for it.

No reason not to (so far)

I say try it.

Yeah the only problem is getting the housing opened but as cbseven said, that might be a way to open it.

I think it would make a lot more sense to apply it inside. The coating should last A LOT longer because it won't be battered by weather!

Wouldn't it melt and run if applied on the inside of the headlamps?

My veil is indeed chipping but I dont think its because of the outside elements

the primary problem that I think is the cause of my Veil chipping, and in some parts there are small strips off, is the heat generated from my headlight bulbs (Sylvania Silverstar 9005s) but to get to that nice glittery white color they burn at about 4100 deg. Kelvin (THATS HOTTTTT).

I can draw this conclusion because it only does the chipping and stripping around the low beam reflector cone, the high beams, turn signals and corner lenses are all fine

so I would assume putting it on the inside of the light housing wouldnt be a good idea on the outside it can atleast evaporate or something; whereas on the inside... one could only imagine

so I agree with orbital75
