i dont know if anybody has discovered this or if its in the manual so i'll post it anyway - i was trying to reset my unit to see if it would lose the lockout locations and i mistakenly held down the mark and brightness buttons and turned the unit on. it popped up with USB on the display. anybody else seen this and what do you think it is for? i didnt go any further - i unplugged and started over.

I don't believe the locations are removed.

I have reset the unit more than once and the settings appeared preserved.

Is there a way to erase your lockout locations? I know the detector has a lot of memory but I am curious if you can erase lockout locations without having to drive back past the same location.

I suspect that ability[to easily remove them in bulk] will come when the software to manage the detector is released.

Yes. You have to be in the same location and the radar source(false signal) has to be on. If the radar source is not on, you will not be able to erase your lockout location.

When you reset the unit, the unit will go back to default settings - Ku off, POP off and etc and resetting the unit does not have to do with erasing the mark or lockout locations.

Yeah, only your "prefs" that you changed from default.

I would want to find out how you can clear the memory of the lockouts. The reason I say this is because I travel from state to state often due to my job. I may be in one state for a week and drive the same route all the time and then I may never be back there ever again. I can drive back to the same place that I stored the lockout and erase it but....If I am not able to go back to every place then how do I clear the memory and only keep the ones that I will be using on a regular basis? I may travel the same route for a week straight and set the detector up to lockout some falses but then I may never be back in that location after that week. I know my question is probably off the wall and a small amount of people have this thought in common if any but, I am curious if you can selectively erase some of the lockouts you stored without going back to the original location?

You have 5000 lockouts/marked locations if that's true as far as number goes.

the registration card that comes with the 9500i that states..."As an added benefit, you will be able to download and install software updates directly from our website".
So we will be able to do it... 8)

Well that's what their registration card says. We'll see. If so, this will be big!

i know what the usb port will be for - im just wondering exactly how this will work. i wonder if it has to be in this mode before you can access upgrades via the port. im gonna put it into usb "mode" and hook it back to the laptop and see if it changes anything. so far we know it can be identified but no acces - for now that is.
