it seems to make my lights not shine as they were before and i just cant make it look good putting it on. :P

Yea, light output will be reduced a bit. Or are you talking about the reflectiveness of the headlights?
You might want to consider spraying it on. Philip has had great results with this method.
How smooth were your headlights before applying the Veil?
