So what if you had two detectors, the regular one mounted high with all bands on, the other one with all bands turned off except for laser mounted low for optimal laser position - would they still interfere with each other? New to the forum just had that on my mind...

The ONLY RD that will give you any chance against laser is a V1....

They will interfere with each other. No RD other than the V1 has that great of a chance saving you, even though I did have a save with my 9500I.

My SR7 and V1 don't interfere at all. The SR7 is down low in the front grill and the V1 is up high on the windshield. I haven't gotten any laser hits since I installed it the SR7, but V1 picked up all the LEOs in OH trying to shoot me with laser. Thats the main reason I bought a SR7 w/ shifters after that road trip.

Forget that idea, 1 radar detector and just get a jammer.

Seriously, if you used the V1 in combination with some detector just for the laser mounted low you would pretty much pick up every laser hit but it's not a useful feature because your still not protected against laser no matter how good you can detect it, so why not just get a good jammer and then you will be protected against laser and you won't have to worry about it interfering with your RD.
