Heres my Question for you guys, I need protection both front and rear (Long Island NY, there now using laser on the LIE, and I've seen two cops sitting on entrance ramps going for the rear shots)
Unfortunately, Im a student, so I do not have the money that most of you guys seem to have. So I can not afford to buy two separate Jammers for the front and rear.
That in mind, I was thinking either going for the LPP, with one front and one rear, or going for a Blinder M40 (Not your favorite I know, but cost efficient and apparently good enough for Alex Roy).

If You have any other suggestions that are gonna cost me less then a grand, id love to hear it,

Current Counter Measures just consist of a Valentine One and a good pair of eyes.

here are some pictures of the car

first off, welcome to the forum (nice name relating to one of the greatest movies of all time  ) you will want to definately get a quad head unit of some sort so you can have the proper protection. rear shots are the most deadly and is the hardest area to cover on a car. AL, LPP, or LI seem to be the best bets currently. the LI issues seem to be resolved and working, LPP have a great wireless kit through cheetah that makes installation a snap. just depends on how much you want to spend. or if you can wait a few weeks, the ZR4 will be out, and that may be a very good buy if it lives up to the hype

Welcome the board. Nice ride. :) jammer has it right, I woudl go LI or LPP. You will be hard pressed to cover the a$$ end.....deadly......

Forget the rear.

Just focus on the front - if you go for a dual-head LPP, put both up there. This will effectively give you JTG capability for all but the most unfortunate and unlikely of circumstances.

You'll need two rear heads (of any of the current top-flight diode-based jammers) to insure proper protection for the rear. If rear jamming is a real and true need for you, don't just go "half-way." Do it right and insure proper protection, as this aspect is particularly hard to cover.

Well Thanks for the responses guys, the Escort may be pretty interesting once it comes out, figure its probably worth it to hold off until that get a few tests before I invest in anything else.

So the Blinder M40/M45 (I read on here that the M40 was actually better then its replacement) is it really that terrible of a unit? I mean realistically none of these units are going to allow you to go 120 down the highway with cops sitting there scratching their heads...
So even if the blinder does eventually get a punch through, Wouldn't I have enough time to slow down to a speed that would get me over looked (Cops usually dont bust anyone going slower then 75 on the LIE, unless its the end of the month), so if im crusing around 80, and the blinder starts beeping, would I have enough time to slow back down to 70 or less before the punch through?

Or am I just turning the Blinder into a glorified Radar Detector, and should really save up and try to get proper coverage

Unknown.

The validity of the majority of the "tests" have been called into question.

Although RacerX's data is something that I would say is beyond such questioning (and shows the older 0-suffix units out-performing the new 5-suffix ones), the rest of the test data, from various sources, just don't add up to any kind of consensus.

I currently would await the latest round of GOL testing to just be sure.

This is a great unknown -

As your speeds aren't excessive (precisely as you said, even the most absolutely astounding jammer will not save the "hyperspeeder"), the problem here is that not all LIDAR equipment is equally jammed by all active jammers, and also, the exact situation (including physical setup and a variety of other "indefinite" factors) of the encounter may either shift things to your favor or, unfortunately, the other way.

Overall, the deck is stacked, always, against us.

It's always better to err on the side of safety - assuming the worst and preparing for it with "overkill jamming."

Again, the data from the upcoming GOL testing will be crucial in deciding exactly what all of us will think of the 5-suffix Blinder units.
