Considering performance only, not cost, should I get LPP, Laser Star or Escort Laser Shifter ZR4 ?

I would get an LI and at least one extra head for the rear.

of these 3 i would definitely go with the LPP. having LPP duals on each end of my car and also tested them with my own LIDAR (albeit limited due to lack of a patient driver :() and i found the performance to be very good.

it also has the parking sensor legality so depending on where you live, you need not fear to have it on your car.

that and their customer support is fantastic too :)

Guys of LIDAR - Laser Jammer Test - March 2007 (http://www.guysoflidar.com/march-2007/laser-jammer-test.html)

If price is not an issue for u then id go for a quad LI set up

If you can wait a while, this years GOL tests should be soon and this might give you some reliable and recent data to help you with your decision.

Have you had a chance to test yours yet? The results from other tests have been so-so which is unfortunate.

Of the ones listed I'd go with the LPP.

Of the ones listed I'd go with the LPP.:withstupid:I agree, the LPP is the best option on that list, but i'd still advise the OP to wait for GOL 2008 if possible.

Please ignore the LI results as they aren't the retail form of the current LI

But for the current/retail LI results look at CT testing group or CFL testing group.

Performance wise out of your choice I would say either the LPP or LS will be a good bet. Though look at PASS and LI as well

I too am pondering updating my LE30s in at least one of my vehicles ('08 335xi and '05 Sienna XLE Ltd--guess which car is the wifes ) and would like to see some updated testing on these newer units inclusive of reliability/customer service reports.

I've seen just too much negativity on the LI unit here- Customer service seems spotty as does quality. LPP seems to get consistently good marks for such and is said to perform well. I'll await the next round of tests.

Corret me if I am wrong, but the PASS only did "so so" against the LA, and very good against the others.

With my Vette, I am DIALED IN!:D I had 2 heads front&rear, and was getting pretty much JTG and complete JFG. I am very pleased with the results on all guns that have shot me...even the LA, which can get through at times with some serious work, but real-world, I feel confident I was protected...plus the LA ain't used up here. The PASS owns the PLIII and the other guns that we tested against it.

BUT...Since I do like overkill... I now have 3 heads up front 2 rear w/2 Control boxes; one for front, and one rear. This now gets me JTG about 99% (realize that these are 1600 ft to 0 applications, solid tone/painting the car). Like I said...I am DIALED IN:D

I would not rule out the PASS (IMHO):)

Im guessing for the front of my bike, any single head diode jammer would be enough to protect it. My LEO friend said he couldnt get a reading on me till about 250 feet or so coming toward him with the Stalker. Id assume any quality diode jammer would be enough for JTG. I still have figure to out how to blacken out my gold colored front forks. Stalkers and LTI's are used in my area, so I was thinking about using a PASS system, front and rear. I was thinking about cutting the screen in the Ram Air duct in the center and putting the jammer head in there, though it might not provide enough protection for off axis shots. The screen has fairly wide holes in it, would moutning the jammer behind the screen effect it much? Or I could mount it at the very top of of the opening, in front of the screen with the head of the jammer flush with the top edge of the mouth of duct?

The LI quality problem was due to unexpected problem with the sealant used in the jammer heads. The manufacturer stood behind its product and the heads were replaced. (I am still waiting for Escort to stand behind their x50 radar detectors that have components that cannot withstand the heat.)

The LI service problems were due to a disagreement with their prior manufacturer's rep on how their product should be marketed.

Unfortunately the two problems happened at the same time.

But if you think there are still problems with LI quality or CS you need to do some more reading here. You will find that the LI results in informal testing are excellent and that everyone has been raving about Cliff, the new manufacturing rep's outstanding customer service.
