What's the guidance when mounting ZR4s and LIs at the same time?
1) Should I set both to jam or ZR4 to recieve only?
2) If I set both to jam, is there any rule on how they should be mounted?

I have tested this extensively. I haven't witnessed any noticable improvement when running both at the same time, as opposed to just running the LIs. However, I did once have a rogue center-mass TruSpeed punchthough during testing while running both together. I mean, I was aiming right square in between all 4 sensors and I got punchthrough. I never get punchthrough against either my LIs, nor my ZR4s on center-mass TruSpeed shots. Since then, I run just the LIs, I almost always run with the ZR4s in receive-only mode, or off altogether due to the high false alert rate.
On the other hand, prior to having my lights Veiled, I used to get these strange punchthroughs at about 1900ft against just my LIs, but inside of 1800 ft, it was JTG. Really wierd. But, if I enabled my ZR4s, these longrange punchthroughs disappeared.
Basically, the only way to know for sure is to test it. From what I've seen, I'd recommend just running the LIs, until you can properly test your setup.

I agree with Dj, only testing will tell. When I run both of mine together the ZR4's really seem to interfere with the LI's. It's almost like the LI's are not even on and only the ZR4's are working. needless to say I never run both together and i have removed the ZR4's to make the look seem less cluttered.

If I ran the LI and ZR4 together, I would install the zr4 at least 3 inches deep in the grill where sunlight can't get to it and run it in received mode and let the LI work it's magic. This way false from the zr4 is minimal but if you get a direct lidar hit, the zr4 will pick it up to alert if you being hit from the front/back.

Interesting. This was actually my base hypothesis. and the rear one I will nix completely.

:dito: I could not get mine to coexist, they need to be far apart and I didn't have the room to do it. I got a ticket, bought a lasergun and tested my setup and discovered they interfered with each other. I kept the LI's and do not get tickets now.

M6D runs them together and it is unyouchable, but on his car each head is seperated by a divider in the air dam, so it's almost impossible for them to interfere with each other.

Only live, specific-vehicle testing will tell.

If you've got the ZR4, you might as well use its strengths to your advantage. It's a great receiver, and actually capable of warning to scatter/reflections/up-road-usage. That, along with its unmistakable front/rear threat display, means that you can gain a significant tactical advantage.
I'd turn it to "receive," and keep it as backup.

Thanks. So consensus is keep zr4s and mount in grille as recievers. What about the rear recievers? They could be quite conspicuous of I have 3 on the back. Should I just ditch the zr4 that is on my plate?

I would not install it, with the ZR4's in receive mode and you get a LI alert and no ZR4 alert, you can safely assume rear attack.

^ That's a good way of framing it.
My choice was to install the ZR3's rear head as-is. I've actually been de-conditioned, though, to the ZR3's alerts, as, over the years, well, it's been known to be a "falser." :p
The only time I react to my Escort's (ZR3 slaved to a 9500i) LASER alert is when I'm near the crest of a hill. I figure that it's the high-mounted detector, "seeing over."
Otherwise, I really don't react, until I hear the klaxon from the LIs.
