Can anyone give me some hard facts as to whether the extra cash is worth the LI for my '08 Civic Coupe or if the M27 will work fine?
I'm out of Calgary Alberta Canada, not sure what lasers are being used here but my buddy has the 9500ci from Escort and he's never had a laser ticket since it was installed....

Thanks!
Paul

3. What is the best laser jammer?
Currently, the Laser Interceptor is the undisputed king. If you must have absolute confidence, that’s what you need. No other jammer outperforms it. And many vehicles cannot be protected with anything less.

There only other quality option is the Blinder X-Treme, which provides excellent protection for most vehicles at a reasonable price. The Escort ZR-4 Shifter may sometimes be adequate for some very small, dark cars, but it is a serious gamble and not recommended. Be very wary of any other jammer on the market, as there are a lot of duds and knock-offs out there.

The definitive source for complete, honest, side-by-side comparisons of the laser jammers is the Guys of LIDAR. There, you can see how all the current jammers stack up against each other in formal, controlled testing. While the last test results are now outdated by product improvements, Guys Of Lidar will be updating their tests in the coming months. They are the gold standard for independent laser jammer testing.

if you have the extra cash, get the LI just to know you have the best. or, depending on your mounting locations, get the m47s and get yourself front and rear protection

Very true. I just figured it was out of ure price range when u were comparing it to m27s and extra cash, hps are a lot more

What's the diff between LI and LI HP?
I'm not too concerned with having rear protection, never been shot from the back here in Calgary.

Ok so I read up on it and I see the HP sensor has 2 laser diodes, 1 horizontal/1 vertical which I assume gives a larger laser jamming radius on my vehicle but for 1400??

I usually pay about 600/yr to renew my registration/pay off my fines....
Don't know if the HP is going a little overboard for a small car like my civic.

I was thinking the regular LI or M27 with Veil on my headlights should do more than enough....
thoughts?

Regular LI Dual will be more than enough. I have one on my truck and it does quite well both in testing and in the real world.

Great thanks for the info.

Now anyone have info on where to get a good deal on the LI duals or is it straight from the manufacturer or nothing?
Maybe a group buy?

I have both LIs and Blinders. The GOL tests are obsolete, they don't cover the Mx7 series yet. Depending on the vehicle the Blinders can be plenty (work great on my black F150). If its not a yellow, bright red, silver or white Civic the Blinders should kick arse. Otherwise, consider the LIs.

And would you say this is something I could install myself?
The extent of my wiring/electrical knowledge is installing amps/subs, stereo decks etc....never anything like this.
But I know it's gonna cost me 200-300 at the place downtown to have done so I was almost thinking I'd just get the Cheetah wireless kit for less than that and do it myself (although I prefer a hardwire but the car is leased so I thought this would make the uninstall easier when the time comes)

Thanks again

one thing to note with that wireless kit, it doesnt actually make the heads wireless. all it does it prevent you from having to go through the cars firewall. so it does save some work.

Right so I would need some sort of waterproof enlcosure for the LI's CPU if it will be on the outside of the firewall?

Does the Cheetah kit come with something like that?

CPU needs to be inside the car so you can hear the alerts.

Well, I suppose I I should say I've never SEEN a cop lasering from the rear (as I drove by) and also my 9500ix has never picked up a laser that I didn't see coming from in front of me but it's missed laser before so I can't be sure.

I believe the Cheetah wireless kit has it's own speaker/led that receives wireless signals from the CPU, but I don't know if it's compatible with the LI, I've only seen it offered for the M27

Without rear jammers, you will never know if you been hit. My V1 never alerted to my rear ticket.

It is compatible but you will not receive the specific LIDAR Gun ID, or any of the LI's Proprietary Voice Alerts however, if you combine it with the Cheetah Mirror, you will get the Cheetah "Laser" Voice Alert. (If I'm not mistaken, maybe Don or Al can chime in here)

Yes, same performance but operationally, with regards to the Alerts, there would be only the Cheetah "Laser" Alert.

If you spent the money 170 plus tax for the wireless thing why not just pay 300 to have a shop put it in????? sounds like a better deal to me plus you hear the alerts that's one of the reasons I want one bc it sounds so cool when u get hit....

^ Good point. As convenient as the wireless solution sounds, it's worth another $150 bucks to retain your voice alerts. They make a serious difference in your ability to analyse threats.

And not worry about whether the wireless communication is working.

I tried the wireless with my Blinders. It always worked, but i was always worrying in the back of my mind, did it turn on, then when I got shot, did it turn off or did I just JTG a LEO.

I like it hard wired much better.

I think I'll just hardwire it myself....I prefer all my electronics hardwired if possible
