Hey everyone,

Does anyone know how to build a complete laser tester. It must not just alert the jammer, but at least provide some indication that it works...

For example:

A laser tester that calculates distance but does not need to provide the distance, just simply light up an led to indicate that a distance has been calculated. If the jammer works, then this led wont light up, indicating that its having difficulty calculating the distance.

Any guru's up for this project? Has to be simplistic. Also use easy to obtain components as laser diodes are difficult to source...

Vonkie? Jimbonzz? JTW? Anyone?

This would be a really interesting project. :)

You can just as well go and buy your own LIDAR gun. No cheap solution to this one. :(

hmm... those lidar guns are expensive... what about a long range parking sensor? well at least 5-10m.

I don't know that such a device would really be testing any jamming capabilities of the jammer. For a tester, I think your best bet woule be to make something that simply detects if a jammer is firing pulses back.

what about building this Vonkie?

Rather use THIS (http://www.geocities.com/wastegate999/lidar/irtest.jpg) circuit to test the output of your jammer. You can also determine if it detoriates over time....
