View Full Version : Spending 8 days in Tennessee between April/May

So my grandma is 84 and wants to fly back to Tennessee to visit family - at least once more in her life. My mom usually tries to go to so she can see family and help my grandma. Well I now I'm coming along to help do the driving and see family too. Our family on my mothers side is spread through Tennessee all the way to Georgia, so I'm going to be driving all over the state. :D

Most importantly...

Me + Driving = Fun!

So I'm curious as to what enforcement is like there. I won't be speeding with my mom/grandma in the car - but who knows when I'm on my own. I'm probably going to bring my V1 just for the heck of it.

Also, if there is interest, I might bring 1 or more of my Lidar with me for a test meet. I'm really looking forward to seeing the country there and visiting old Cival War sites. From the looks of it, it looks like a really beautiful state.

I see a lot of laser being used throughout the interstates in Tennessee. There are a lot of hills and trees for them to hide in and around, so keep an eye out for sure. There is also a lot of regular old constant on Ka stuff; not too sure on the frequency. I've never ran into instant on in Tennessee.

I can't recall ever seeing that many LEO's on I-81, I-75 & I-40 when I have been there. Speed limit is generally 70 on the Interstates and the roads are amoung the best in the East.

FYI, Georgia and Tennessee do not report tickets back to your home state. :) You can take it a little "easier" on yourself.

Got that info from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driver_License_Compact#Exceptions]

TN state patrol uses Stalker Ka, and some K band too. Everything I've encountered around the Memphis area has always been constant on, but has been in unmarked cars, mainly Tahoes.
