Was looking around on http://www.radar.co.nz/nz/report1.html and I saw this:
LASER Jammer News.
Do you need one?
Laser detection is no defence for Laser guns.
Only a Laser jammer will detect and defeat a Speed Laser gun.
Laser Jammers are fixed in the vehicle and not easily moveable from Vehicle to Vehicle.
Laser Jammers will not jam Laser guns through a glass windscreen. Front or rear!!!
Does that mean if a LEO is shooting laser through the windshield of the LEO's car at on coming cars that a jammer would not jam the gun???
Maybe GOL can test this to see if it's true.

Happya$$ says this is a bunch of bull $h!t just like how some say every 6 dbm gives you twice the range maybe in theory but not in the real world

I believe what they are refering to is that Laser jammers if placed behind the windscreen of your car will not be able jam the LIDAR gun, which is true as we all know, they need to be installed outside the cabin with a free view of the road, unlike radar and laser detectors which can be placed behind the windscreen.

I'm actually planning a little test of this myself.
it won't be much, basically some ZR3's against the LTI marksman. gonna see if/what they do behind glass and a tinted window.
same location, one test behind glass, and one in front.
i'll keep you informed.

Does that in turn mean the police cannot use THEIR laser guns behind a windshield or glass too?

Yes they can, I have seen them do it.

I got a bit sidetracked in my testing, but i was able to get jamming from my ZR3's behind the glass.
Both behind the windshield and behind a tinted back window.
i didn't do a very thorough test by any means, but the short answer is that they still detect/jam behind glass.
how much they are affected is hard to tell, since you'll get punchthrough without something down in front.
i think placement is more of a factor than the glass itself.
without something protecting the front end, a jammer up in the windshield area would be hard pressed to work, even if glass had zero impact on performance.

I type so fast that this happens just like how I drive real fast. Just ask Jimbonzzz and Stealthwannabe about my fast driving. They could not keep up

If the number of "accidents" you have when fast typing is similar to the "accidents" in your fast driving, uh oh

From behind the window you will have lesser range. I have used a laser from behind the window. From close, it will work, but how farther the worse.

Most leo's out there are targeting at 650' under. There are those that do target further so, if you need a stealth setup for a laser jammer, behind the glass will work.
