I know I've always ran my Whistler mounted high up near my RVM, but I began to wonder today based on the the type of horn inside the Pro78SE is it actually better to mount LOW or to keep it high? I know the general rule of thumb is high = better as it can see over hills, vehicles etc. but I know certain horns are made to actually use the vehicle itself to help "capture" the waves as they travel.

I guess really the best person to answer this would be Mike B. but I'd appreciate anyone's input.

I ran my 690se low for a few months and the preformance did not appear change too much.

In most cases the higher the better but I would resist placing behind tinted strips in the event some of these strips may contain spatter with metals.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I have mine peeking out right below the tint strip. I've actually moved it to be in front of my sun visor so it's almost invisible from the rear, especially at night, but I can still see the display just fine.
