Hi Folks,

Prompted by a severe increase of Laser speed traps lately I would like to report my good fortune after 1 year and 11 months.
I live 25 miles north of Atlanta and make regular runs down I-75 to Atlanta and Tampa Fla.
I have the transponders mounted in the two slots on my 2005 Silverado Z71's front bumper. The truck is Modified a Bit (http://users.adelphia.net/~allen22/1Truckpage_2.htm) .
I also run an Escort 8500 X50 hard wired and clipped to my visor.

The Lidatek has NEVER let me down or falsed. I only give the unit the full credit if I am sure I am the one being monitored. I have had mucho opportunities to honor the Lidatek with these honors. It has proved to be a good detector in heavy traffic and laser being shot with several cars between myself and the gun, and at times, from some pretty impressive distances.
After several weeks of no activity I loose a little of my reaction time to the alarm but still have time to bring the vehicle down to a legal speed before it stops jamming.
This unit has paid for it self many-many times.
Running it with the X50 is a real charm. I mounted the X50 high to better detect radar and it has only went off for laser detection twice since it has been ran in combination with the Lidatek. The X50 is an awesome detector.
As with all other Radar/Laser combo units I have tried, the laser detection function will only save you if the police unit is shooting at someone else and your detector picks up some of the fragmentation laser.
The greater Atlanta area is really heavy with laser guns.

Some install notes:
Getting the transponders aimed correctly is the most important thing you can do to get the best out of the Lidatek.
The kit comes with a tiny level. Getting the transponders mounted level was the most time consuming part of the install. The level would roll off at the slightest bump or movement. After many four letter words from loosing it and fishing it out of some pretty tight spots I finally got some Vaseline and applied just enough to make the level hold in place.

Good Luck.

I too have had only good luck (so far) with my dual LE-30s in MA, RI and NH. Getting the units level was kind of difficult due to the tight install on my car. I found the easiest way to install the transponders was to use GOOP glue from any hardware store. That stuff sticks and hardens up extremely well and a little goes a long way. It is much better than the double-sided tapes I tried. It was also easy to then level the units by using some slips of paper and a dime while the GOOP hardened over night. Water does not effect GOOP, so it will not lossen up over time. The removal of GOOP is time consuming (picking and pulling it off), but it does not leave anything on the aluminum case or cable. I am not sure if it would attack a plastic cased jammer head (it may contain toluene or methyl ethyl ketone which will craze some plastics).

Anyway, I am waiting for the next upgrade, which is being tested by Lidatek. They said it should be out shorly. The April GOL test, according to Happy, should be testing this newer version (I believe it is a software update to fix some of the problems, but I defer to Lidatek, Happy or some else who knows the details).
