Default Just Recieved My RX-65.....Question Time....

I just got me RX-65 and I currently live in FL i was wondering about some settings I should and should not use....I was wondering if I should be using the X band because ive been getting the same false every time right by my house from an automatic door, but no X bands from cops. Thanks Mike.

I don't believe they use X band in Florida anymore. To be 100% sure, check your state laws to see what radar equipment is approved for use in Florida.

Welcome to the board Mike. Hope it works well for you. Where did you buy it?

Thanks for the info and welcome...I ordered it from Amazon, from a place in TX called MCM Electronics. I was worried before I was ordering it because the price was 275 for it and I thought that it was way too low because it goes for 320. Amazingly the radar works perfectly. Im am going to check the FL laws now, if anyone from FL or that knows about the X bands in FL please respond. Thanks Mike.

The use of X band is prohibited in FL Mike. No idea why but am 100% sure.

Okay. Once you become sure that FL does not use X band shut it off. Turn KA band to USA mode as opposed to INTL mode which it is on now. This will improve your KA band detection range. Also... if you are not concerned with POP then shut it off. Run it in highway mode and you will be happy. Good luck

Thanks for some more info, but why would I be running it on highway mode instead of city or autoscan? Also, is POP needed I am not too fimiliar with the POP mode, also what about SWS mode, not sure about that mode either. Thanks Mike.

The reason for running the detector in Highway mode is better sensitivity. Shut POP off because it will annoy you(falses) and chances are you will never encounter a POP trap and if you do your RD won't save you anyway.

So your kinda saying that the only difference between city and highway mode is the sensitiviy, I thought they both detected different bands.
