V995 software ver?

I just a V995 today and wondering if I have the newest software? Is there a certain past date when the newest software ver. was put in the V995's?

I just got a V995 also. Is yours silver? So far its great. I dont know what software it has though I would like to know too.

The most current version for the V995 is 4.5. Mine came with 3.6, and I just purchased it a little over a month ago. No telling how long it had been sitting in the retailer's warehouse before it was shipped to the store....or how long it had been on the shelves in the store, though. I took mine in to Bel/Escort (local for me currently - Cincinnati)....and they told me that there was really no difference in performance between the two versions. You can find which version you have by holding down ALL 3 buttons (brightness+mode+power) as you're powering the unit on. This will reset the detector to the factory settings...so you'll need to reset any bands or features that you currently have set it to afterwards. Just be forewarned.....it only displays the version that you have VERY quickly...for an ultra brief second....so pay close attention as soon as you do it.

I reminds me of my pior passport 8500 and that is a good thing. It is silver and black. I get a reflection from the silver top plate and I will add a face plate to see if that will take care of that problem.

Mine came with the Smart cord and mine is silver 2006 I just got it 2 weeks ago at Circuit city.
