you must have got the v995 rp. i believe that just came out and includes the smart plug. when i got mine from circuit city it came with the regular plug.

Yeah when I went to Circuit city they said this one just came in. I was like ok ill take it. It does have a amplified speaker very loud. No hardwires. Just a Metallic silver and smart plug and 4.5 software. I think I have the RP 2006.

CrazyVolvoRob is right, the Escort Passport smartcord works well w/ the V995. If you can get a smartcord at a decent price ($10 compared to $30) then it's worth the try. Mk
