whats the difference between vector 995 VS RX65

whats the difference between the 2? other than looks , whats different?

I need to get a new detector before I spend the money elsewhere..

I was all set to buy a Pro 73 Whistler cause I hear their service is great and warranty is good to but I kind of want the new Bel to.

My current rd is a Whistler and before that was a Bel and I hated the bel but I think they have come a long way since then.

I havnt had a speeding ticket in 16yrs so I am thinking its my turn soon

voice alerts for one. I'd get the top of the line (65) for an extra $30 (and did). Just bot a e795 from RS a few minutes ago, just for fun.

The PRice is a huge factor!!!! I never noticed a difference between my BEL v995 versus BEL RX65. My BEL RX65 did have KA set to international when I used it though..

The difference all comes down to the features
1) the BEl RX65 can display 1 X, 1 K, and 1 Ka radar source all at once where the BEL V995 will only display the strongest alert.

2) you can set the RX65 to scan only USA frequencies(34.7, 35.5 and 33.8) which is for improved range. Or you can set it to international and laert to all KA guns, and the BEL v995 is always in international KA-mode

3) The V995 has inter-changeable face plates the BEL RX65 does not!.

4) The BEL rx65 comes in a hard case and includes a smart cord and the v995 doesn't.

5)BEL RX65 $329.95 and the BEL v995 is $269.95 Make sure you buy from Roy he has the best prices!!!!

Overall they are both great detectors and I am keeping my V995 as a back up!!!!

If you are on a tight budget get the V995 it is a great detector will equal performance to a BEL rx65(run in international mode) And It has never let me down.

I just got a new 2006 V995 it came with Smart plug and hardcase and also has the 4.5 version software. Its Silver metallic and so far has proven itself in the states of NJ/NY very well. All that matters to me is its range and when it beeps I slow down. Has alot of nice features. To me so far it has given me alot of warning to slow down. The RX-65 was my first choice I saw a V995 at Circuit city and grabbed it. The V995 and RX65 have similair capabilities. The Rx65 has more feature on to play around with. All in all you cant go wrong with either one.

Does the RX65 have auto-dimming? I checked out the Bel site and I cannot find it listed.

No. The only Beltronics detector with auto dimming option at this time is the STi.

But the V1 isn't a Beltronics detector. Bel STi has auto dim option AND user operated dimmer. Only thing that sucks about the STi dim features is you have to go into program mode to change them.
