Knowing that BEL recently released the latest Version of the STI, I am looking for user opinions on the A4 M9.

1. Does your A4 M9 run hot?

2. Have you experienced the Service Required message on your A4 M9?

3. How is the Filtering / False Signals with your A4 M9?

4. How is the detection performance of your A4 M9 ?

It's been out for a while now. I think one or two guys are already driving with A4M9.

My experience so far with A3M8

1. Generally yes. I think it's mostly from the feel of the magnesium casing.

Is the a process to identify the version?

Not really. You find the software version by pressing the Vol/mute and Sens buttons as the unit boots up.

Oak's just trying to figure out if Bel have found a stable and functional version of the STi yet. Each revision has addressed a few glitches, the latest is supposed to have solved the overheating issue.

How did you resolve the "service required" issue?

I've spoken with Roy and Bel. Roy is more than ready to replace my STI.
Roy's customer service is 2nd to none :!:
Bel gave me their usual BS. I have to pay to ship them a "defective" $450.00 RD.
Then I am without my STI for 2 weeks :!:
Bel's customer service is LAST to none.

My "Problem" is that my unit has excellent K, Ka and LASER detection.
So I fear that in "fixing" the overheating problem "Minor".
It's detection abilities will be comprimised "Major".
