Hi,
This is my first post. I just bought a 795 express at the shack for $60... but I'm thinking about getting a little better detector...how much better is the vector 955?
Thanks

well i got mine from circuit city about 3 weeks ago and it is awesome! i got it for $180 plus tax. it has selectable bands, turn off x, pop or turn them on. it has autoscan voice. over all a fantastic buy. they also sell the bel v895 IT IS EXACTLY the same performance some people will tell you its not but it is made for and sold at radio shack
I would go for the 955 myself
Bel told me yesterday that the 955 and 895 are the same
I wouldn't believe that for sure.Originally Posted by strmchaxsr

Also at Radio Shack it says the 895 is 10x more sensitive. At Bel's site it Bel says the 955 is 8x more sensitive.
As far as your purchasing decision, that's easy. The Bel e795 is worthless junk in my opinion after I have tested it and seen how poor the performance of it is.
Thank you for all your useful feedback guys....
As I was online I noticed that the vector 940 was only $100.
Is alot better than the 795?
Thanks
I've used the 795 a long time, it is better than the 'other' detectors for that
price, but the Ka sensibility is solala sometimes you get the signal sometimes
not. It seems that the detecor takes too longtime to decide if its worth an alert or not. Now I've got the Beltronics V895 and its really a lot faster and much more sensitive than the E795. If you don't want too much selectable features the 895 is a full go!
In regards to the information on Beltronics website, the chart doesn't show that the 955 has Autoscan mode, but it most certainly does. Frankly, I'm not sure what is meant by "10X" vs "8X"....as compared to what, a Cobra RD?
Considering how well the 955 performed for me recently, I don't think you can beat it for the money.
how about the 940? is it any good in comparison with the 795?
