Default Does Vancouver, Canada uses X band?

Hi, does anyone know whether Vancouver is still using the X band or not? Because I want to make sure before I turn off the X band on my radar, it is kind of annoying to give me false alarm. Does anyone what other band is Vancouver currently using?

X-band is not used. Only K and Ka are present. And laser of course

Glad to have one more Vancouverite here. Welcome to the forum.

I've only seen a K-band instant-on handheld radar on Knight St once. Everything else handheld is laser. They use LTI Ultralyte LRB, Stalker LZ1, and LTI Marksman 20-20 here. Kustom Eagle Ka radar on some cruisers, and some K-band equipped cruisers in Richmond.

Thank you for your info. How does your STI driver work so far? Does it able to pick up the laser well? Also, do you use city mode or autoscan?

I don't have a Bel STI. I'd just leave it on Highway mode with X-band turned off. I've heard that Bel STI has a much better laser detection than the RX65. Maybe other STI users can confirm this.

Horn 13 and Stalcar report very good laser peformance picking up scatter... not V1 area but still very good. But as we keep advising folks relying on just your RD for laser protection is playing with fire. Think about a Laser Shield & Veil to improve your odds and/or a laser jammer for a high level of confidence.

r u sure that there is no x-band. I was on granville yesterday and as i got closer to a police on his motorcycle my X-band began to rise and sound its alarm. I have a bel rx65.

I wouldnt rule it out, but it could have been a convenience store inbetween you and the cop simulating the situation of him shooting X at you.
