lost manual, how to turn off vg2 on e795?

lost my manual, how do i turn off the VG-2 thingy on the 795 express?

i heard with less things running on the fuzzbuster it'll actually detect radar better. its not like i need it turned on in missouri anyhow. thanks

Welcome to the forum jjoel. To turn off your VG-2 on your 795 you hold both the city and brightness buttons in until you see the red led. To change the setting, use the volume/mute control. If the red L.E.D is constantly on, VG-2 is on, if the red L.E.D. is blinking, VG-2 is off. To get out of VG-2 mode, hit the power button. Hope this helps.

yea, i would exchange mine in, but no other radio shacks have another 795 so im stuck with it.

sometimes it works kinda well, sometimes it just plain sucks. i was going through kansas city one day and i had a cop point his radar thing right at me and NOTHING. grrrrrrr.

im taking off the vg2 to see if that'll help at all

hey just wondering. this has only happened maybe 3 or 4 times.

sometimes i'll be driving and i'll hear this beap that lasts like 3 seconds. and then the signal LED'S will be blinking back and fourth at me.

from what i understand if its laser my K KA AND X should all be lit.
and i know for sure it wasn't k, ka, or x

so was it because my vg-2 was kicking in? weirdest thing.

hey took the vg-2 off and the thing is doing MUCH better. it picked up a K and about 4 Ka alerts coming down to oklahoma city.

probably half of them i thought were falses cause i couldn't see teh cop but finally he appeared. teh other two the cop was still quite a ways away.

all express 795 owners TAKE THE VG-2 off!

Now jjoel, not all of us can take off the VG-2 on the 795. While using it in my car, I agree. But using that 795 in a commercial vehicle, YOU MUST HAVE VG-2 ENABLED!

I'm kinda confused. According to the manual it comes defaulted off and you do the above procedure to go into a VG-2 mode to turn it on/off? Am I reading this right?

For the VG-2 alert to be alerting you, the 795 will make a high pitched sound the the red led's will be moving from left to right for I think 30 seconds. That sound really wakes you up.
