To be hidden better, if I put the V995 behind my blue windshield tint will that lessen my range to detect radar and laser?

test it out against some k band signals that i get on I-5 everday and will test it out at the low postion, middle windshield postion and behind the blue tint high postions and postion the results. It just gives me another reason to drive my audi...yeahhhhh.

shouldn't be a problem if the car came with the tint. If you had it installed, then it may be metallic. The only way to know is to test. Try to post some pics after the job is done.

I did 1 initial run and found the spot where I picked up the K-band and marked in my head.

I run in Hwy mode, X band off, PoP off, SWS off, KU off.

K-band Freq- 24.169 (initial run)

1st true run. V995 in low position just above the wipers

2nd true run. V995 in middle postion picked up that K-band (24.169) est. 500 ft. earlier then 1st true run.

3rd run. V995 behind factory blue tint, lost about 200-250ft. compared to when I picked up that K-band on the 1st true run.


So my test on my Audi does confirm what I thought......

My V995 doesnt do very well behind the factory blue tint and does great in the middle of the windshield and I was using it just above the wipers and will now keep it in the middle now but use the "Dark" feature at night for more stealth.
