Have been reading this board for some time now, and has over and over found a lot of very useful information from here ! Also STi is a wonderful product, and it has made me smile several times on the road. Its keeping up its promises as a detector very well.
Anyhow everything around the 432Mhz leak making STi detectable seems to be in radio silence, so this is a reason for posting for the very first time to this group!
We did some testing few days back and can confirm that with normal radio scanner and a cheap small window placed directional antenna you can reach 30ft range easily to detect the "undetectable" Beltronics STi. This means that on a street I can detect any STi user in traffic next to me or possibly coming towards me with an 250usd worth of kit available from a Radioshack store. With some extra hours and a hooking the scanner to a digital camera one could even start building an image library of STi equipped vehicles.
Surely this leak will boost the sales of new Spectres or other alike equipment to be sold to LEO:s makin everyone visible again.
Maybe its time to break the radiosilence and find it out now !
Any official news from Beltronics on this ?
Any unofficial info if they planning to fix this issue in future products ?
Any words around what is going to be offered to the existing customers as a countermeasure ?
