its so anyoing
oh that detector is the ultimate radar detector
oh the passport is the worlds best detector
the rx65 is the best deector ever tested
some random BEL radar is the most advanced detector ever....i hate how they do this
The Bels you speak so highly of are in face basically Escorts, with different cases and software packagesOriginally Posted by richardboy316

it's best for european drivers, because it's got greater range on photo-radar than v1 euro
There's no alternative since in E.U. only in italy rds are allowed possesion/usage. LPP + TARGET966r make the best combination.
don't forget that 966r needs extra sensors for laser so LPP will cover this.
all the rest frequencies are covered.
Fitting the 966r behind the grill of the car, not low but behind the car's mask, makes it ideal for receiving any signal. I am using the 550 and can say that it is very very sensitive to any signal.
the same goes with 966r which I haven't install yet but will do soon.
If you find a good place for the antena on the front of the car (no metal, carbon, or certain plastics or paints in front of it) you will get even better distances with the Bel966 than with the Bel550 or any other portable detector, against the 34,3 Multanova photo-radar that is.
But antena placement is crucial, sometimes you have to play around with different positions and compare distances.
If you are using the Bel966R then mount the antena vertically (better performance than horizontally) with the arrow engraved on the antena pointing foward (completely straight foward and leveled with the ground, never down/up or to a side). Never use the metal deflector provided in the box, the antena needs to point foward for good results.
Hope this helps.
The Bel996R is a great detector for Europe, though for a lower price a Bel975R will do the same job as well, same distances agaisnt a Multanova, but no Ku Band and a bit more falsing. Personally I prefer the Bel966R for also other reasons I don't want to get into here, but the Bel975R is cheaper to get though.
Well, I have 2 Bel 966R's at home, 1 Bel 915 and a lot of other Dutch people own a Bel 975.
A Bel 975 set properply, so X, S, Ka Wide off and Ka Narrow (2nd led) on will equal a 966R. And it is a lot cheaper.
The only difference is: A 966 wil increase amount of leds quicker (915 and 975 will stay longer on 1 led), but 915 and 975 will increase in sound quicker.
The Bel 966 EVO is using the same technology as the 975. The software makes it different.
I tested them both and the difference in price (bel 975 is 350, 400 euro's and Bel 966 EVO around 800) is to high.
This: http://www.flitsservice.nl/techniek/html/remote.htm will increase your range for gatso and multanova 6F photoradar.
BEL 966r I bought for 420eur sealed. it's a great unit and I love it.
I don't find a mute button though :?
The two circuit boards inside the antena are diferent as well, the one inside the horn is different due to the Ku band for example, but overall they make no diference on Ka band detection either.Originally Posted by Flitsservice.nl
