    Default Question about IO?

I am ashamed I have to ask this question, but....

Does the RX65/STi give a different alert to instant on? The reason I am asking is because, back in the day my Bel would alert to IO, similar to the way the RX65 alerts to POP. I remember it would flash and alert differently if it detected IO. I found that feature very helpful when traveling on the highways.

I believe it does? If you are with in clocking range the audio and visual alerts will be full.

No their is no separate alert...

You might get a weak alert and then the signal would go away then would alert again a little later

Weak instant-on a ways up ahead of you = no separate alert.
But, if it goes right from from detecting nothing at all to a very strong signal, then it will beep a faster at first (and maybe flash the display I think) to indicate instant-on (at least on the RX65).

If this happens from a real police encounter, you probably just had your speed read, or were very close to having it read.

Yep... the unit will kinda go bezerk on a instant-on alert that is closeby. Display goes to full and the audio will go solid IIRC.

    Default 995

I think the 995 has a similar instant on alert to the RX65.

Didn't the older Bel RD"s flash "I" for instant on? I remember a few times my old Bel detected IO from pretty far away. It seems as if it would alert to IO like the new RD's alert to POP. Maybe I am dreaming, but it seems that is how it worked?

Did you see a patrol car after you got the POP alert.? You do get more falsing when POP is engaged. Sometimes another radar detector can set it off?
