Hold down City and Brt while powering it on. This will reset then detector to factory default settings and will display the version. Be sure to watch it since it is only displayed for a second...

Arg but then I have to set it back to my settings.

Is there a way to upgrade the revision?

You have to send it to BEL to get an upgrade...

Is it advantageous to do so? Covered under warranty, etc?

If you're in the first year of warranty, it is free, minus your shipping. 4.2 is current version. I've been told that there isn't any difference worth sending it in for.

    Default Version 4.5

    Strange,
I just tried this and after failing 3 times I finally got it. It said 4.5 on mine. What's really strange is if i press the power button for half a second the unit powers up and back off and the lights on the smart cord come on and back off. at the same time as the unit. I kept pressing it for half a sec and i thought I broke it. I finally realized you had to hold the power button down until the unit turns itself on. Anyone else have this problem?

Sorry, that was a typo, 4.5 is most recent.

    Default versions

Does anyone have a list of changes between versions? Or is there someone on this board that works for BEL that could get them? I have v3.6 and am wondering if it is advisable to upgrade to the current? 4.5?

Bel won't fess up to any changes other than better error logging.
