Most likely refurbs and they are probably luck to have that. I would get it from a authorized seller, that way you actually get the warranty.

i have bought from ebay before i asked the seller be4 i bought them if they were still shrinkraped and has the serial # attached if so i got them i used to work for a wholesale drop-ship fufillment compnay and we were escort auth. so anything our customers sold were authorised also if there was a prob they just sent it back and we would send them a new one and the old one as defective back to escort.

    Default ebay...

Ebay ok here it goes..with ebay you take a risk. You may get a good unit you might get one thats broke i.e. service required etc. So on ebay you take a huge risk. That is a decent price for a rx65 yes thats what they normally go for on ebay. Umm although i personlly would get a escort x-50 myself better unit in my opinon from what i have seen. NOt saying rx65 isn't a good unit.. it is its just x-50 seems to work better. And for about the same price you could get the x-50 which is alot better on laser aswell.. This is only my opinon tho from what i have seen you can do as you wish..i have a sti driver and i am not even thrilled with it. I am looking at sending it back in cause its a weak proformer in my book. Ebay is a 50 50 chance with ur money. You don't get any warrenties. The unit could be broken. Although it is still cheaper to send into escort or bel after a 200 dollar purchase out of warrenty for them to fix than a brand new 330 dollar unit guys so not all true ebay is still cheaper and can be just as good if not better than brand new. Because how many tech's do you think looked at ur brand new unit and tuned it etc..? Prolly none maybe like 1 in a 100 if ur lucky. Hence all the issues with them. Anyhow take ur chances if ud like. Ur choice bud.

i bought my rx65 on ebay, its been like 2 months know and it works great no problems. you have to really look at the seller, see what kind of feedbacks he got from selling stuff, and were he;s located, really look at it , because i search diffent ebay users almost eveyday, and read the feeback that people left him and then made my choice.

I think the other risk in eBay, if buying "slightly used" (LOL)....is that there's A LOT of pawn shops out there, so you have no history on the unit itself. If you looks at used ones at all, I try to ask the seller 2-3 specific questions....if thy're not a pawn shop, they're going to to have the answers.

Im on the fence myself, as the RX65 and 8500x50 are about even, and it seem in some historical tests (RR, GOL) they even trade spots on top 5 roster at different test times.......

I bought my STi on eBay.
It worked for a few days then started getting the "Service Required" Message.

Incredibly Bel said the unit is still under warranty (according to the SN) and they repaired the unit free of charge. All I had to do is pay shipping and some brokerage fees.

Now the unit works great, its upgraded to the newest and greatest firmware and other goodies (tuned, new antennas etc)

All in all I would not buy a RD from eBay again, I think I just got lucky.

...I bit the bullet and bought on eBay today as well. I picked up a "slightly used" RX65, no scratches, etc. the seller had had it for about 3 months. I traded emails with the seller a few times, on varioius questions, etc. (VERY GOOD FEEDBACK ratings, buyer and seller)He bought this and an 8500x50 at one point, to see how they compared to his V1. ......(and he still likes his V1 the best it turns out...) I got a manufacture date of 10/06, and got it for a pretty reasonable $195. (unless of course I got screwed! :x ...but I'm an optimist). I would have loved to have waited and tried to give my business to RR, but in a pinch and a hurry, this was faster and more (MAYBE...) for my money.....Once I have it as see how it performs on the road, I'll know if I got a winner, or got bent....
