Today I was getting a KU false on and off for about 60 seconds on the RX65...was very weird...gained strength for a sec and back off...
any ideas?? Perhaps somone next to me was on a cell phone?

Maybe yes. Sometimes cell phones can cause Ku alerts.Originally Posted by stalker
I have actually had KU go to full alert twice, with an officer sitting on the shoulder in miamisburg ohio. Was this just dumb luck (a false and a cop) I dont know... kind of odd thoughOriginally Posted by stalker
A good amount of satelite dishes use Ku band. False was probably from satelite dish.
I would recommend disabling KU band until we see something definative saying KU is activated. I don't think I've gotten any alerts even when I did have it on, but I've gotten soome POPs when people made cell phone calls near me.
I have had info they are starting to use KU band here....so i will leave it on
Well as if the current momment, they are licensed to use KU in the U.S, but no manufacterer is
I havent had any falses on Ku and i have had it on.......i dont know about cellphones setting off...intresting..i will begin testing it..haha
Do you know what kind of phones set it off?
I use CDMA so i guess that doesnt do it..
Maybe GSM? or other types? or is it certain brands of cellphones?
A nokia 6102 on Cingular GSM can set off an RX65 on laser sometimes. Also, when I had a TDMA Motorola V60I, it would occasionally cause a POP false upon placing a call. Never had any alerts with my 3586i on FirstCellular (CDMA).Originally Posted by Eddieth3king
