Default Bel STi Audio Alerts....something isnt right...help?

Hey there guys, i just got my BEL STi in the mail a couple days ago because i sold my RX-65(sold my RX-65 on eBay for 180 because i bought it on eBay in the first place and it didn't work properly.) so this time i went all out and got my STi from Roy. However, it feels as if the audible tone alerts don't increase when the signal increases. When i am getting an alert from 1-5 bars of signal strength it has one rate(a medium rate) noise and from 6-9 signal strength it has another rate(a full alert rate) so it only sounds as if there are two audible rate sounds. My RX-65 would alert with a very slow audible rate(for low signal strength) to a very fast audible rate (for full signal strength) so there were more than two rates. Does anyones else's STi do that or is it just mine. Also the K-band alert doest sound as loud as the other alerts. Please help me if this is normal or do i need to send it in?

The ramp up alert on the STi has never been that popular here. For me, inmy area on Ka band and laser are my worries, so when I get even a little Ka I slow down.

The problem is the Ka warning on the STi is incredible.

Mine seems to increase, but I will have to check this out if it only had 2 tones. K band off, so I don't have any clue about that.

I bet we can all agree that is kills the V1 sounds. I swear, when my V1 goes off it sounds like I'm watching an 80's movie all over again

are other STi owners experiencing this audio tone alert. i just don't understand why they would make the RX-65 with a good ramp-up tone and the STi with a bad ramp-up tone.

There's even a thread dedicated to this very issue and trying to get Bel to do something about it with no success so far.

The truly weird thing is that if you watch the bar graph it ramps up smoothly

Yeah mine reacts the same way as I drive past my neighborhood speed sign twice a day. Starts out fast, then only gets marginally faster as the signal peaks, and never a continuous tone. I much prefer the X50 and V1 ramp-up style audio alerts. This is my only complaint about the STi. (search and you will find this is a common complaint regarding the STi on these forums)
