My 985 loses a good connection with regularity. I bought a new cord from Bel and this didn't help.
It appears that the male connector on the inside isn't doing it's job. If I move the cord it will work again so I assume it's the connection at the plug.
If anybody knows how to fix this I'd appreciate it. Bel wants 80 bucks plus shipping to fix it. I'd rather buy a new detector than do that.
This detector though works excellently. I've owned the 980, Passport 8500 as well as others. This thing works the way I like and it's easy for my old eyes to read which is another reason I'd like to try to fix it.
If it isn't fixable like maybe I have a cracked or cold solder joint there what detector should I get? I don't want to spend over 200. I see the RX65 on Ebay for under 200 shipped. It's been a long time since I've done research on the subject and I just saw on the Lidar people's site where a Valentine did very well, at least far better than I'd ever seen the Valentine do on Radartest.com.
