V955

Just recommended to a friend on a small budget to buy a 955 for my other friend (her BF) for his Birthday............ couldnt afford a 995 and the thing is tommorow............... please comfort me and say I didnt just make a mistake

Might buy one for my sister. Then I'll test out all the RDs in the family whenever I get a Bushnell(hopefully soon)

In the family: X50, V965, Pro 58, and hopefully V955. Roomie has V995. Maybe I could get my other roomate to get a V940 :P

OK good I was worried id sent her to buy a total POS............ I mean I checked the specs and it seems alright, but one thing in my top 3s that I cant live without that isnt on there............. multiple threat displays of any sort

You did a great job. The V955 is just a feature less Rx-65. As you can see on GOL test results it did as good if not better in some cases than the Top 4. I had the Bel 895 which was Radio Shacks renamed of the Bel 955. I loved it. Im about to purchase a 955 from roy as a back up seeing how RS no longer sells them. I should have purchased one when they were on clearance right after RS decided not to sell them again.

If the V995 is infact identical to the V895 that detector will serve very well...

That RD is excellent... I own one and for the price it cannot be beat... its plain and simple.

Arashi666, that was a good recommendation on your part.

I just helped out a guy who had a 955 mounted just a little off. He showed me the unit and all and I also turned off SWS for him. Nice looking unit. 8)

i had one, i LOVED it, great detector. i upgraded to an rx65 and the only difference i notice is the ka reception and features. the v955/895 rocks! good recommendation :wink:

OK good, I didnt know the bel Vector series too well and she was at Circuit City right then........... I first said NO Cobra... but the guys there told her the same thing........... she called me since im the RD expert among our little car forum

glad I did well though............ probably gonna wanna give him one of my smart cords later since its alot better than that crappy standard power cord, and since hardwiring all my stuff ive got 2 of um just lyin' around :roll:

Thats a great idea, im sure they will love that feature. The bel 955 is the last model that actually can use the smart cord.
