Default Bel STI and LPP Saved My A$$, BUT I have some concerns....

So I was playing around on some back roads when out of no where I see a cop car sitting in a farmers field. He was probably a city block's distance away, and all of a sudden the STI alerted to laser. I have never encountered laser before and am used to have a much longer warning. I live in a region with photo radar and I always detect the radar units, which work on K band, about 2-3 city blocks away. From what I understand these are harder to detect.

Is it normal for the detector to alert to laser so late? I know that if I didnt have the LPP I probably would have been nailed.

    Thanks!

Yes it is.Your radar detector picking up laser is a hit or miss situation.Your jammer will always be your first defense.

Well yes.... theres nothing to detect until the cop points it at you and pulls the trigger..... you might catch a break and detect some scatter if a car immediately in front of you was shot first.

Did your LPP alert before the STi or did they both go off at the same time?
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

I believe they alerted around the same time. Honestly I cannot remember as I am bad for having my music cranked. Thank god for the auto-mute!

Cool. Your investment in countermeasures paid off. Should feel good... after the shock wears off

Sounds like another STi save along w/ the LPP.
