The reason I ask is because Bel and V1 won't ship products to Ontario, so I'm wondering if Radarbusters.com can. And if so, how come they can and Bel and V1 can't?
Thanks,
KJ

yes
It's that Bel and Valentine won't ship to Ontario, not that they can't. (stupid policies... )
They should ship to Ontario, they ship to Virginia.
As spanky said, you can get one shipped from Roy at www.radarbusters.com
What's the brokerage and duty like coming over the border into Ontario?
Is it cheaper becuz the Bel is made in the USA and thus falls under NAFTA?
Thanks,

No, Beltronics detectors are made in Mississauga (spelled right?) Ontario.Originally Posted by KJ
That's awesome.
That should mean there are NO taxes other than PST & GST when I order it then right?
Thanks,

Radar detectors are duty free.
You pay GST and PST plus brokerage (which can be really high). However if the package is sent by mail (USPS delivers to Canada Post) you eliminate the huge brokerage fee charged by Fedex UPS etc.
If you live close to the border, get a mailbox at a UPS store stateside, the cost of the mailbox will be cheaper than the brokerage fee.

Does anyone know if Radarbusters.com ships VIA USPS for Canada?
I found a place in Calgary that retails it and they only charge GST. The only problem is, their pricing is outlandish.
$631.07cdn + $25cdn shipping = $656.07 x 1.06 GST = $695.43 cdn Shipped.
I'm guestimating that getting it from Radarbusters.com will come out to around:
$450 USD x 1.18 = $531cdn x 1.14 PST & GST = $605.34 + $40cdn shipping = $645.34 (a $50cdn Savings AT LEAST).
Thanks,
KJ
