I'm an AutoScan Fan as Well, Although I Do Still Get a Lot of X Falsez...
i just got my V955 a couple days ago and was playing around with one of those speed signs last night, and in autoscan and highway mode it eached picked up the sign at the same time and held the signal that same amount of time after passing the sign. So i think the autoscan just filters out the falses more and didnt seem to effect the range of detection at all in my case that one time
mine stays on highway.
I like city.
weird. around town its auto. however any time on a back road or on the interstate put it in Highway.
I have done that BAD thing of running 2 detectors at the same time sometimes. One in the lower left and one in the far right. With the RX65 In usa mode highway. and the X50 in highway mode. The RX65 goes off then the X50 goes off right after. I tried the RX65 in Intl. mode city. It seemed to go off 4 or 5 tones sooner then the X50. I know my ver 6.1 worked better. I drove by the same leo like 4 times trying different settings found city, usa, worked best with my 6.1. Not sure with 6.2 Intl seems to work better on the 6.2. I will play with it some more. Just my Opinion though.
In Houston, city Xoff
Outside, both highway & auto
Wow, less falses on POP while in Autoscan. I have never heard this before. Thx.
City LoX mode is missing from the poll. City NoX is just redundant.
I used to run Autoscan at first and had no complaints really, but without some comprehensive testing results to back it up (and the lack of what it does), I run City LoX mode to preserve Ka/K band range and compromise X band. At the edge of the city, it's back to Highway mode.
I don't mind the falses when driving alone, when with family I need less falsing.
I'm not so concerned with X band comparison (although this data/observation is great), I'd like to know more about K/Ka band comparisons of the two modes.
