    Default RX65 "quick review"

    I figured I'd do a "thestaton" style mini-review for the RX65, since I don't think he has one. This is based on the rev 6.3 btw.

    Looks= 8 (Display is Bright - 3 brightnesses + full dark, Easy to read, 4 Easy Buttons, doesn't shake as much on windshield as X50 does)

    Sensitivity= 8 (Decent radar performance, weaker on K than X50, older revs apparently sucked on laser but 6.3 comes close to V1 levels)

    Quality=9 ( Solidly built )

    Support= - ( Never had to call in so no rating )

    Features= 8 ( Automute, Tech Display, Threat Display, City No X, but no autodim. Pushbutton volume means no "surprises" when you put it up and plug it in)

    Falsing= 9 ( Maybe due to K band lacking, but this baby falses less in town than my other two RDs)

    Value= 9 ( Costs more than red X50 but is packaged similarly, with nice case, extra suction cups, and coiled cord )

    Ease of Use= 10 ( As easy to use as the X50 )

    Ramp up= 7 ( Visual ramp up is great, Audible ramp up is a bit to be desired. )

    Tone Alerts= 9 ( Loud & VERY Distinctive, I knocked off a point for the weak K band sound. Voice alerts are a cool novelty but not something that adds any value IMHO )

    Overall= 8.6

    Yeah, K is pretty bad. I had my stereo up/windows down and noticed a K1 alert (cobra I'm guessing; tho I passed by a tractor), and could barely hear it.
    X just pierces my ear.

    As far as falsing, my rx65 is MUCH more quiet on the road (save door openers). I haven't picked up a K band cobra since I've had it (and there are a lot of cobra users here). That and the Spec mode that shows multiple radar sources. I hated how the pro-58 went from K to KA back to K at K-Marts. Disadvantage of the rx65 is that I pick up door openers further away lol...

    Yes, they are hidden inside a cardboard spacer in the box (not the clamshell case). There's a sheet of rubber feet for dash mounting too.
