I took a little trip on Canada Day to Port Huron Michigan and had some interesting experiences with my STi.
The first being on Highway 402 between London and Sarnia. The Highway was pretty empty on the trip down. I locked my speed in around 120km/h and STi in Highway mode mounted high.
I recieved a K-band alert of 1 bar and it lasted for roughly 5 seconds or so and then went away. I decided I better ease off a little and took it down to 110 km/h. I travelled for another 1km - 1.5 km, when I saw in the median a OPP LEO facing traffic. My STi went full alert all of sudden. This is the first time I've seen the OPP use Instant On in my area. I'm sure glad I got the initial alert, nice save STi.
Down the road the Sti alerted K-Band again, this time starting at 1 bar and steadily climbing. The end result was a K-band whats your speed sign in a construction area. I'd say a good 2km detection on that one.
Finally in Port Huron I had an encounter with the Port Huron area Sherrif who was using Constant on KA-Band. The STi gave a good 1km warning at least before I saw the LEO coming in the opposite direction. I'm going to guess it was 34.7 but I'm not 100% sure as I had the RD in Standard mode.
Overall the STi and I had great weekend and Canada Day
