    Default bad news?

    check out this link..
does that lidar work as it says???
i think my vector 965 would be useless if this one works as it says on that website

That is also one of the easiest lasers to jam!

Depending on a radar detector to protect you against laser is a risky proposition period. In most cases, if you are targeted directly with a laser gun, then it only serves as a ticket notifier.

Most detectors don't do all that great in detecting laser targeting the vehicle theyre mounted in. See this test:
    http://www.laserveil.com/laser/detec...adar-detector/

However in SOME cases, laser detection can save you:

    - you can occasionally get lucky and detect a bit of scatter when a vehicle ahead of you is targeted

    - if you are directly targeted and the gun has difficulty obtaining a reading right away, then you might have a chance to slow down. Some guns acquire a speed slower than others, such as the Stalker LZ-1 and the Laser Atlanta in Stealth Mode: in these situations, you'll have a much greater chance of slowing down before a speed reading is obtained than if you're targeted with other guns. If you're targeted at long range, the gun might not get a lock right away. If youre vehicle is stealthy and not very reflective, then this helps tip the odds in your favor. Passive countermasures such as VEIL or Laser Shield can help more.

The ProLaser II as shown on the site supposably has a very narrow beam and very good optics, which might make it more difficult to detect than some other guns.

But in general for reliable protection against laser, you need a laser jammer.

does the laser shield plates (like this one) <DEALER LINK REMOVED>
to put on the license plate works for these kind of lasers??? or do I need to get real jammer?

    hey pals,
    check this one out!!!
i think it's kinda cheap also, and it says manufacturer will pay the ticket!!!
    <DEALER LINK REMOVED>
    hope it is real..

EDIT: i found this one also. http://cnx.org/content/m12579/latest/ according to this link, active Selective Noise Jamming seems to be the right one for me... could anyone tell me if <DEALER LINK REMOVED> this link is the one I should get? is this one a active/ selective jammer?

None of the Rocky Mountain Radar jammers have any practical jmming effect against police radar, so NO it isn't real.

This is only talking about radar jamming techniques in a theoretical sense. No commercial radar jammer has ever been produced using this technique.

This is a laser jammer. If that is what you need, go read some posts in the lase4r jammer section to see what is effective against laser.

For the most part, all lidars work that way. A detector alone won't save you from a lidar attack, unless you're lucky enough to pick up scatter, or you aren't speeding.

GTO_04, actually the PL II is harder to jam than the PL III. But the PL III is a lot more common, and the PL II is gradually being phased out (it's no longer produced).
If I'm passing you on the right, YOU are in the wrong lane!

If speed kills, how come I'm still alive?

I can attest that the laser detection varries greatly. In a few cases, I have received 2km warnings on Highway 404 and adjusted my speed accordingly. However, I have a ticket where I received no warning even when they were facing me at less than 200ft just past a hill. To my surprise there was no warning whatsoever. The size of the laser dispersion is so small (4 mm) that they need to aim it at your laser detector to be detected and in this case they had it zeroed in on my plate (centre of the car when I passed over the hill). I even drive with Veil on my headlights and front plate. When driving, the laser must scan across the detector to get the alert. The short of it...most driving conditions will provide areas to hide laser guns (hills, overpasses, buildings, behind street lights) and do not rely upon laser detection to warn you unless you have a laser jammer.
