Does the RX65 make a different pitch alert from 35.5 @ 34.7 Ka bands? I think mine makes a different tone on those bands. They are the only 2 Ka bands i have been hit with. I use a external speaker so maybe it's getting amplified?

I'm not positive, but I believe they are the same. I have a V995 and the tones are the same for 34.7,35.5, and 33.8. Very well could be your ext. speaker. It would be cool if it did use diferent tones for each band.
AFAIK Bel has only one tone for each band, including Ka. Unlike Escort which has two (std. and loud, selectable in programming options).

ok I just thought the pitch was a little different is all.
As far as I know, the RX65 has one sound for K (beep?), one sound for Ka (chirp?), one sound for laser (?), and one sound for X (?). I do not believe that there are multiple sounds for various frequencies within each band.
1 sound for Ka.

K = beep (kinda weak)
Ka = tweet (sort of like a cell phone ring)
Laser = toy space-gun type sound
