Purchased a Bell STi / Live in Ontario / Manufactured 2307

Ok,

So I just purchased an STi some time ago, and it happens to have the 2307 build date.

I have been reading, and since 33.8 Ka is the main band used where I live, I am worried.

Should I just return this thing, wait a bit, and order a new one in a month or so? Is it guaranteed my unit is "bugged"?

Advise?

Well i recieved mine from Bel 4 days agao and happened to run into that 33.8 ghz bug. All the other encounters seems Ok but after my last experience i already shipped it back to bel for a refund and going back to the V1.

Supposibly bel has a fix to it but only supposed to start on unit manurfactored after 27th week of 2007 (2707).. This is what Jimbonzz said but he and Roy also stated that the fix is unaanounced when they do come out with one....

If your STI is less then 30 days return it and purchase a new one that hopefully has the fix... When i called bel Sales rep they said the 30days starts from the day you recieve it and as long as is get back to them no more than 35 days from the day you recieved it you should be fine...Please note before sending it in you have to get a return # and put it on the box :idea: Hope this helps.

Alright - so I called Bel and my STi is being returned.

What manufacturer date has "fixed" the 33.8Ka issue?

I believe this week is the 29th week of 2007, so hopefully if Roy and Jim are right then the unit yougetting should be updated... If you believe its not performing, simply send it back (within 30 day) and get a new one.

I personally would have waited a lil longer if possible bc i odered my STI 1 and a ghalf weeks ago and got 26th week. Which is 1-2 week delay. So what i mean is that if you order no you still may get a 2607 or maybe 2707 unit:idea: :wink:

Week 27 is the supposed week that will contain the new software with the 33.8 fix.

But even if Bel releases the fix on the 27th week, how long before stores' inventory (Radarbusters etc.) will actually have the fixed units? If the place you're ordering from still has a pallet of older STis it could be a while.

Thats why you order from Beltronics directly.... Plus the only way to get the(30 day test drive) is directly from Bel.
