Default which is more reliable the Escort or the Bel?

I know they are the same unit so outside performance , which is more likely to take a puke and die....

I am trying to decide whether to buy a used one or a new one for lot more....

I just need to know which one is better.....I am talking build and service since they should perform the same or close...

considering that both are made by the same company technically, they both are about the same. i had a x50 that showed a service required within about 3 days after i got it, i contribute that to just bad luck but i have had an rx65 for about 6 months without a problem so i really don't know. it all depends on luck i guess. whistlers and V1's are more reliable though i think

I strongly suggest you buy an extended warranty on it! I had a RX 65 flash service 2 hrs after I plugged it in. Trust me you will have problems more than likely. I use a V1 and recommend that. But I know, I am not suppose to say that here.

I had an STi and an x50. I never had problems with either. I think both companies have the same probability of getting the good ol' service required message. A lot of it is also luck of the draw and if you let your detector bake on the windshield for hours at a time while you're not in the car.
