Default RX-65 came back from Bel still broken

So I sent the unit in after getting the "service required" messages and it came back but now I can't turn off the safety radar. I can go in to program it off, but when it powers up "safety" stills shows. I go back to programming and it says it's still off. It seems like Bel has some serious quality control issues!

"Safety" shows up on power-up regardless of whether it's on or not. Same with all bands. Turn X off for example, you'll still see X during the power-up ritual. This is normal, unless you set the power-up to fast in programming. Then you'll just see the options changed in programming.

When you turn bands on/off, you'll hear a double-beep at the end of the power-up sequence with the changes displayed (e.g. X Off, POP On, etc.). SWS off is the default.

  I'm sure will hear this from other Forum members. What you are seeing is the standard Start-Up display on the RX-65. If SWS was ON the unit would double bing at the end of the standard startup and show "SWS ON" on the display. Is that what your unit is doing?

Ok I see what you're talking about. Thanks for the correction. BTW I spoke to Bel and their sending a shipping label to me so I can send it back in, but now I don't know if I should send it. There was a pop sound I heard when I turned the sws from "off" to "on" and back to "off". Something inside the unit "popped" when I turned sws off. Well it's still under warranty so I guess I'll wait and see how it works.

Sure it (the POP) just wasn't the button(s) from depressing it?

A 'pop' is something I have never ever heard of, describing the sound that it made within the detector... heck, the only time any of my detectors and POP is in the same sentence, is when a Cobra is near. (When I used to keep POP on).

No it wasn't the button, it was much louder and I felt it on the case. I'm going to have a good opportunity to test it this weekend.
