Default auto mute fuction on STi Driver

Let just say I adjust my volume to 5, and then when it alert, it will beep at vol. 5 for few seconds, and then continue beeping at vol. 2 all the way until it can't detect anymore signals.

Now, instead of continue beeping at vol. 2, it will gradually mute the whole thing even there is still radar being detected.

I didn't do anything to it, it just does that one day. Did it do it to yours?

    Default your not alone

Your not alone on this one, both my Bel STi's do this same thing. It's too bad the auto mute mutes it down so low on the STi as compared to the X50 which works great w/ auto mute.

    This doesn't happen to me...

I set it to max Vol, then it goes quieter, but it stays at that volume until it goes away...

My STi, after its 33.8 bugfix flash, automutes by rapidly ramping down the alert volume to a very minimal level. I think that this also was the way the automute worked before it was re-flashed, but I can't recall for sure.

I noticed that my STi auto mutes really well after the flash also. I almost want to say that it didn't auto mute at all before the flash, but I can't really remember. Mine goes to about volume 2 when it automutes, but I keep an eye on it to scan for multiple threats. If it's a10. something I know it's X. The only other thing I really get hit with is 24 and 34.7 ( which is always what I call a definite threat), so I keep an eye out for that when the volume lowers.

    Default so

So am I at an understanding that after the "flash", it automutes better? I just don't like how it automutes so low compared to other BelEscorts.

Just turn the automute off, (that's what I did) If you want to mute the alert, hit the little button on the powercord, or the middle button on the detector.

I didn't like the automute to start with, since it made the alerts too quiet, in my opinion.

    Default I

I understand that jerry, but why does the X50 automute so much better than the STi?
